What was asked
The request was for an electrical enclosure whose service face had to carry a switch and gauge while the body also had to admit wiring and hold together for maintenance. The starting problem was not simply a box. Cut-outs, wiring, fastening and access all had to relate to the same enclosure without turning it into a thick, awkward print.
The brief also made the service face important. It needed to remain understandable to the person using the equipment, while the enclosure had to separate into parts that could be made and assembled deliberately.
Before making a route, the review needed a picture of what had to stay continuous and what could become an intentional assembly. That separated the enclosure's functional relationships from choices that were only convenient for the build.
What the review changed, and why
Review turned the enclosure into a split body and a separate lid. That placed the opening where access was useful rather than where it was easiest to draw. The base could carry the wire pass-through and the lid could retain the visible switch and gauge cut-outs.
The screw areas became local landings instead of making the whole enclosure heavier. Insert zones were included where fastening was needed. That kept material focused around the joints and gave the review a clear way to discuss where the assembly would be opened and serviced.
This was not a cosmetic change to the model. It changed how the enclosure could be handled, accessed and maintained, while preserving a clear record of why the lid, base and fastening areas had their particular roles.
What we made
The finished record is a PETG base and lid, made as a matched enclosure rather than a single hollow shell. The build route kept the service face as its own section and treated the fastening, wiring and cut-outs as connected decisions.
This is the kind of job where the useful evidence is the build record, not a generic enclosure image. The note records what was made and why the geometry changed, while photography remains absent until it documents this specific delivered piece.
The result is a part record that can be revisited with the same questions it began with: where the wiring passes, how the service face is accessed and how the enclosure closes around its working components.
