Aerospace tooling and ground support
Work that happens around the aircraft rather than on it: assembly jigs, drill guides, protective caps, cable routing, ground support fixtures and training aids. The requirement is repeatability and traceable intent, not certification.
Materials we would shortlist
- PA6-CF
Stiff and dimensionally stable, the usual answer for a jig that has to keep its geometry.
- PA6-GF
Considered where the fixture takes handling abuse rather than precise load.
- PETG
Practical for protective caps and covers where cost matters more than stiffness.
- ABS
Reviewed for shop-floor fixtures that will be modified by hand.
Design notes for this job
- Tell us what the part touches. A guide that contacts a finished surface has a different material answer to one that does not.
- Where a fixture will be duplicated across stations, say so at review. Consistency across copies is a production question, not a print question.
- This is deliberately tooling and ground support. Flight hardware and anything safety-critical sits under our standing exclusion and needs a separate written agreement.
