Functional prototypes

A prototype has to answer a real fit, handling or assembly question before a larger commitment is made.

Materials we would shortlist

1. PETG

   A useful first material for many functional fit and handling questions.

2. PA6-CF

   Considered when the question centres on a more rigid part.

3. PC

   Considered when the declared use calls for a different material balance.

4. PET-CF

   Considered for an engineering-focused prototype review.

Envelope considerations

A prototype may be split where that preserves the feature or interface being tested. The review focuses on the question the part is meant to answer.
